4/1/2025 -4/30/2025 | Give the gift of reading. For 2025, the Library Foundation of Spokane County has taken on the mission again to give well-suited, reading-level books to every kid and teen who registers for Summer Reading. Your support helps provide books for 1,500+ kids and teens. Your donation, of any size, helps us reach the $5,000 goal. The entirety of donations goes directly to covering the costs of providing books to kids this summer. Library Giving Day is April 1, 2025. However, we’re celebrating all month long! The Library Foundation is accepting donations through April 31 to support Summer Reading 2025. Support Library Giving Day today at supportscld.org. For Library Giving Day last year, the Library Foundation fundraised for Summer Reading and each youth who registered for the summer reading program received a new book of their very own that they could keep. Over 1,500 school-aged children (ages 5–17) registered for Summer Reading in 2024, a 59% increase over the previous year. Let’s do it again! The Summer Reading Program at SCLD encourages kids to maintain or improve their reading skills during summer, helping to ensure that they are ready to learn and not working to regain forgotten skills when they return to school in the fall. If you’re passionate about reading, share this cause on social media to help spread the word. Be sure to include #SupportSCLD #LibraryGivingDay and link to supportscld.org/library-giving-day. more info... |
