Statistics show that viewers absorb 95% of the message while watching a video. Video is the top-performing digital content on social media, driving more engagement than any other social posting optionVideos get 1200% more shares than text and images combined. That's because they have the power to evoke strong emotions that encourage viewers to comment, like, and share. The better the content, the more interaction it receives.

Video and the AEC Industry: Making it Count - will explore what it takes to create a well-produced video to enhance your marketing strategy, create brand awareness and recognition, and establish credibility and authority within your marketplace.

Join us on February 9 as our expert panel members share their secrets to visual storytelling, why it’s essential in 2023, and how it can elevate our AEC firms to a higher level. Our panel will explore video’s applications related to:

  • Insights into your design and/or construction approach and process.
  • Exclusive content that sets you apart from the competition.
  • Creating behind-the-scenes video to give an insider look into your firm and how you work.
  • Recruiting videos to entice potential new employees.

Panel members include:

  • Rob Culp, Little Fish Productions: The Owner of Little Fish Productions, Bob Culp graduated in 2010 from Gonzaga with a degree in broadcasting and a passion for the power of video to transform organizations, communities, and the way people understand the world. For the past ten years, Little Fish Productions has been doing exactly that. We take a service-centered approach to video production, helping tell stories that elevate great organizations, doing great work. The construction industry has become one of our specialties, working with a variety of contractors, engineers, and architects, as well as professional organizations like AIA and DBIA. We've worked with those clients to produce everything from project highlights and case studies to recruiting and holiday videos.
  • Don Hamilton, Hamilton Studio:  There are so many things that Don does well, it’s hard to define his strengths. But he is first and foremost a craftsman. His complete knowledge of the craft, and his artistry in the areas of photography/cinematography, is renowned. Don’s skill, imagination and attention to detail, gives each project, regardless of budget, professional polish. Don studied theater at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, transferring to UC Irvine to continue studying theater and lighting design. He burnished his photographic skills at Art Center College of Design.  “I aimed to be a strong theater person and a great photographer.  After moving to the Northwest in 1980, Don continued as a still photographer for several years, then, added filmmaking. “I am equally interested in both disciplines."  At this point, I really believe that I’m at the top of my game.  It may sound strange, but I run Hamilton Studio - this incredible space - like a repertory theater company. We all have multiple disciplines - multiple skills.  Artistic satisfaction keeps us all coming back week after week.”
  • Megan Schuyler Kennedy, Rogue Heart Media:  Megan Schuyler Kennedy serves as creative director at Rogue Heart Media SPC, and wonders how she's been making videos for 20 years already. She and her team proudly serve community-minded organizations, local municipalities, and value-based businesses through creative nonfiction media production and social marketing services. Recent commercial projects have centered on recruiting talent, growing value awareness (independence, sustainability, philanthropy, partnership, etc), and deepening important conversations, including those around affordable housing and conservation efforts. In 2022, Rogue Heart furthered their commitment to sustainability and community impact by obtaining B Corp Certification, and are currently celebrating 12 years in business.
  •  Brooke Levine, Averson Creative: Bio coming soon!

The Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (SFP 10-14) is delivered in seven parent, youth, and family sessions using narrated videos portraying typical youth and parent situations with diverse families.

The program is taught with 7-10 families over seven weeks, usually in the evenings. It is recommended that the group size be smaller when dealing with families where parents have begun to have concerns over the problematic behavior of their youth.

This scientifically tested curriculum:

  • helps parents/caregivers learn nurturing skills that support their children,
  • teaches parents/caregivers how to discipline and guide their youth effectively,
  • gives youth a healthy future orientation and an increased appreciation of their parents/caregivers, and
  • teaches youth skills for dealing with stress and peer pressure.
